OK, so the 2016 DMT Program is over already, but I don’t really want to leave this blog hanging like this, so I’m working on getting it caught up to the end, even though maybe no one is looking at it anymore. I just posted a picture set for week 9 of the summer and you can see it at 2016 DMT Summer, Week 9 Photos. It was the week of July 23 – 30 and we had two mission teams in Doctor Arroyo that week. One team was from Kingston, New York and the other was from Madison, Wisconsin. We did the usual stuff – farmer’s market, hospital ministry, door to door visitations – in the mornings. We did three days of VBS with the kids in the village of La Palma Gorda and on Thursday we all went back to Real de Catorce one last time. On Wednesday evening we had a church service in Doctor Arroyo, immediately followed by a graduation ceremony for the surviving 11 DMT students this year. It was a fun night and we had a special meal afterward with cakes and a million selfies on my cameras for me to sort through (I’ve been loaning out a couple cameras throughout the summer in order to get pictures of things when I’m not personally present. Clever, huh?)

We took the teams out to Texas on Friday and they all went home on Saturday. Also, Allison & Edison went home on Saturday as well. They are going back to college and needed to skip the final mission team (weeks 10-11). Eric’s little sister Elaine went home as well. She was our last remaining American summer staffer this year and I did not take her to the airport, so I didn’t get any pictures of her leaving (sorry Elaine). Anyway, there you have it. I’m working on a final post for weeks 10-11 and I’ll try to get it posted after the weekend when I’ll be back in Arroyo.

Thanks and God Bless
Dennis
